Available from October 2017, Anglia Crown is launching 13 new dishes to its flexible multi-portion chilled and frozen range Crown Choice.
Dishes on offer vary from individual pies and pasties to casseroles and stews, as well as internationally-inspired flavours such as Spanish chicken (pictured right).
The new additions join Anglia Crown’s extensive core range, offering a choice of traditional and comforting options for hospital patients.
In line with patients’ and customer requests, there will be six new chicken-based Crown Choice products including chicken goujons (pictured below); a chicken and mushroom pie; chicken tikka masala; Spanish chicken; chicken and mushroom casserole and a potato topped chicken and leek pie.
Other dishes include a selection of beef meals such as a beef and ale casserole; a minced beef and onion pie and a beef and vegetable pasty.
Also being introduced are a lamb and lentil stew; pork and leek sausages; a pork and bacon casserole and a cheese and onion pasty.
Meanwhile, several existing dishes in Crown Choice have been improved including beef lasagne; chilli con carne; corned beef hash and a Moroccan style tagine.

“Our Crown Choice range meets the flexibility and demands of our customers as it can be provided in various size multi-portions and as chilled or frozen.
“We continually look at ways of evolving our products and introducing new dishes to ensure patients have ample choice during their hospital stay.”
He added: “W e have had a busy few months and are proud of the new products we have developed and introduced to the sector. “From our Crown Choice finger food range, which we created to help better care for patients who struggle to use cutlery, particularly those with dementia, to our most
recent launch of our reduced-sugar desserts as part of our individual frozen range, Crown Advantage.
“But it doesn’t stop there as we have a number of exciting projects we are working on which we will be able to say more about in the coming months.”
Anglia Crown is a chilled and frozen prepared meal manufacturer for the UK healthcare sector. It works with more than 100 sites, either directly with each NHS Trust or via partner suppliers such as facility management companies or contract caterers.
