If the UK leaves the EU without a deal, then any trade agreements that we were a part of as an EU member state will no longer apply. This will mean that trade between the UK and the EU will no longer be free or friction-less and trade will be done on World Trade Organisation (WTO) Terms. UK goods exported to the EU will face border checks where none currently exist, and will incur new tariffs. Delays at the borders will also be inevitable as procedures, processes and paperwork change and checks are introduced on consignments and drivers entering the EU from the UK.
