With just under two months to go until its year-end, the Country Range Group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, is on course for a record-breaking 12 months with turnover already up 14% on 2016.
While ingredient price inflation, the value of the pound and the general Brexit uncertainty have created challenging conditions across many sectors, a policy of inward investment by the Country Range Group’s members in the last two years has helped provide the platform for this incredible growth.

Across the 12 members – Birchall Foodservice, Caterite Foodservice, Creed Foodservice, Dunns Food and Drinks, Essex Foodservice Group, Henderson Foodservice, Harvest Fine Foods, Ilfracombe Foodservice, Savona Provisions, Thomas Ridley Foodservice, Trevors Foodservice and Turner Price – key investment in new infrastructure, technology and warehouse space has taken place.

“In the last 18 months our members have added 175,000 square foot of warehouse space, the majority of which has been to increase freezer capacity, and there are now an extra 74 vehicles added to the fleet delivering to customers across the foodservice sector. This inward investment and forward planning has been a core factor in our improved offering, service and success.”
Perhaps most importantly, the Country Range Group and its independent members have also been investing in people this last 18 months. In total, a staggering 213 new jobs have been created and the members have also been pro-active in staff personal development with training, mentoring and graduate schemes all helping to improve, motivate and retain talent.
