ACS&T celebrates 9th year of BRC Global Standard with AA ratings
Food logistics specialist ACS&T has been accredited to the highest level – AA – across all its UK sites by the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution.
ACS&T successfully passed the rigorous BRC audit at all its locations in Grimsby, Wolverhampton, Tewkesbury and Scarborough, with the Scarborough site at Seamer being rated AA+, which is given to sites where the audit is unannounced.
ACS&T’s Managing Director Malcolm Johnstone said: “We are delighted to have achieved the highest level of certification across all our sites.
“This is a tremendous testimony to the commitment of managers and staff across all levels of the business to continuous improvement.
“At ACS&T we never rest on our laurels and this is proof of the policy of continuous improvement that drives our organisation forward.”
The BRC Global Standard is universally considered as a benchmark guarantee of quality, safety and operational performance for the UK retail industry.
ACS&T was one of the first temperature controlled logistics companies to gain the BRC Storage & Distribution Standard in 2008 and has consistently achieved accreditation every year since.
The assessments cover hygiene, food safety, environmental standards, operating systems, traceability, product flow and handling requirements, which provide a benchmark for best practices within storage and distribution.
ACS&T also holds ISO9001 and ISO14001 certifications.
As a subsidiary of the international group Camellia Plc, ACS&T’s expertise in multi-temperature food logistics goes back nearly a century.
Its sophisticated nationwide food storage and distribution network provides ambient, chilled and frozen integrated services to food manufacturers, wholesalers and speciality producers of all sizes.
Its extensive estates include 14 cold stores, 2 ambient stores, comprehensive co-packing facilities and large, dedicated and shared-user multi-temperature transport fleets.
