ACS&T’s Malcolm Johnstone joins ECSLA on Brexit watch
Malcolm Johnstone, Managing Director of food logistics specialist ACS&T Logistics and former President of the Food Storage & Distribution Federation (FSDF), has been appointed UK FSDF representative to ECSLA – the European Cold Storage and Logistics Association.
ECSLA is the voice of the European cold storage industry and Mr Johnstone will serve for three years as the UK FSDF representative.
He said: “This is of significant importance to ensure that the Brexit process is managed without detriment to our industry and our clients. Our customers’ priorities are our priority.
“When Theresa May invokes Article 50 before the end of March 2017, the focus will be on ensuring a suitable continuing of trade with the EU at a macro level. To ensure this occurs pan-European organisations such as ECSLA will have a key role to play.
“At ACS&T and FSDF we want to be at the forefront of the work that must be done on behalf of our customers to ensure engagement within the Brexit debate. We will also be monitoring from an FSDF members’ perspective the detail of the exit process as it becomes clearer,” he said.
