Defra have now shared a link to the long-awaited list of BCPs and their anticipated designations (based on what they have applied for).
This list of planned Border Control Points in development for 1 July 2022 can be downloaded by clicking here.
The information includes the following:
For England, Scotland and Wales: Facility name, website, commodities already designated (existing BCP), commodities requested awaiting designation and additional specifications regarding the scope of the designation.
Should you have any enquires regarding the commodities listed you are asked to contact the Ports directly but please let us know should this prove problematic and we will feedback to Defra. It is important to note that 6 outstanding BCPs/ICs/CPs have yet to give consent to publish this information: Manchester, Heathrow Airport – unit 1, unit 2 and Courier Facilities Ltd, Harwich, Heysham, Liverpool, Portsmouth. Defra will continue to follow up with these ports and have promised an update as when they get the permission to publish their detail.
Defra have also issued the following Disclaimer:
This preliminary list provides information on those sites which are anticipated as potentially being designated BCPs across GB and Control Points, subject to the completion of the process for designating BCPs. It should be noted that inclusion on this list does not mean that these ports will be designated as BCPs.
Whilst this will enable you to start planning your routes for imports, we stress that no commercial decision or other form of reliance should be taken upon these details until designation is confirmed. Any plans made are entirely at your own risk. We accept no liability for reliance on such a list.
We are signposting only to this information and requests for further detail must be directed to the relevant PHA, Defra is unable to respond to questions in respect of designation until the process is complete. PHAs have been advised that this information is being shared.
This information will also be shared on the UKMPG interactive BCP map and updated as BCPs are designated
