At a recent Defra led NI-GB Food Supply Chain Forum we were joined by representatives from the Digital Assistance Team (DAS). The team are particularly keen to understand how the paper trail varies across the fish supply chain and wish to identify how enhanced digital solutions could be used in these instances (you will recall that digital certification overall is the fundamental aim of DAS).
The DAS team have discussed and tested this piece with a range of fishery sector suppliers since July, and now want to engage with hauliers. They are looking for haulier volunteers who are willing to sit down with them for up to 45 mins before the end of August to highlight pain points in the process and work through how this solution could/should/would operate within their business.
Below is the list of commodity groups and certificates that are subject to current testing plans with volunteer businesses. Those wishing to join the DAS testing group can still express their interest via the EOI form Get Involved in Defra’s Digital Assistance Scheme (qualtrics.com)
