The negotiations with the EU continue, even with only 10 days to go, until the end of the Brexit transition period.

The Federation remains concerned about the impact of the UK leaving the EU without a Free Trade Agreement.

With so many food products coming into the UK from European countries, the impact of tariffs could have a major impact on food prices in the UK. This would also come into effect just as the full impact of the Pandemic would be felt in the employment market.

With significant tariffs across a range of frozen food categories, which will be impossible for members to absorb, this will lead to higher prices for consumers.

We again urge the Government and Brussels to find a negotiated agreement on a Free Trade Deal from 1st January 2021.
