Please find a link to the latest newsletter that we have received from the Defra run Business Readiness Forum.

Of particular note on this newsletter is a further update on which border control posts (BCPs) will be approved for products of animal origin and high-risk goods arriving from the EU.

The Federation have been pushing Defra to confirm which BCPs will be approved for products that may require inspection. We have been advised that the information would be available at the end of 2021,  then by the end of January.  As you will read in the newsletter they hope to publish information by the end of this month on the UK Major Ports Group (UKMPG) website (https://ukmajorports.org.uk/).

There is also an update on the newsletter about the use of country codes for customs paperwork.

So rather than using ‘EU’, members must use the specific country.

There is a link in the newsletter to take members to the codes for each EU member state.
