We have been briefed by Defra on the ongoing issues with getting shipments of products through Border Control Points (BCPs) in different EU states.
Non-compliance across the Shortsea Straits is now down to 8% from 19% in January. It would, however, appear that Holland remain a key issue with non-compliance at 20%. Although the Dutch are advising that for other third countries non-compliance runs at 15%.
Rotterdam was mentioned as a specific issue and Defra are working with the Dutch Authorities to resolve the issue.
There are still concerns that across the EU and even in member states BCPs have different interpretation resulting in delays.
We would encourage BFFF members who are experiencing issues to feed these into Denise Rion and Holly Jones so that we can support you and ensure Defra are aware of the issues.
