We have received guidance from Defra that goods being shipped to Northern Ireland for the Food Service market must be accompanied by full export certification. This impacts all product movement.

The notice also states that even if you are covered by the Authorised Trader Scheme and the STAMNI system which only covers product destined for the Retail market in Northern Ireland.

The guidance which you can access here outlines the support that is available for companies moving product into the Food Service Market in Northern Ireland.

The BFFF is disappointed that more support has not been provided by Government for business supplying the Food Service Market in Northern Ireland.

We continue to make the case that this additional burden is unfair and places a heavy work laod on a supply chain that has already seen a massive impact through the lockdown in 2020 and 2021.
