From 1 July 2022, the current legislation requiring pre-notification of at least one working day before the consignment is due to arrive is being maintained.

Businesses can ask Port Health Authorities (PHA) for a derogation to reduce the prenotification time from one working day where operational or logistical constraints prevent compliance with the above timeframe. In line with legislation, this can be reduced to between 24 hours and 4 hours and businesses must agree this with the PHA.

From 1 July 2022, the specific pre-notification times will be the responsibility of individual PHAs, in line with the legislation.

To find out what the pre-notification time will be at the BCP you’re planning to use to import animal products from 1 July 2022, please contact the relevant PHA. The contact details of the PHAs can be found on MPG online interactive map. The existing four-hour derogation for pre-notification on IPAFFS IMP remains in effect until 30 June 2022
