At the last meeting of the Defra NI-GB Forum we heard from a member of the Trader Support Service (TSS) team who us a gave preview into what’s coming on TSS release 6 and release 7.
Release 6 is scheduled to take effect at the end of August and will support ‘alternate’ customs procedures – for example things like excise movements, customs warehousing, inward processing, outward processing and temporary admissions.
Also, at the end of August, for the rest of the world (ROW) to NI trade, TSS will be supporting the air inventory linking process so movements going into Belfast will be covered.
Release 7 will then be introduced early October and will see TSS support on maritime inventory linking for ROW to Belfast ports. Several service enhancements are also planned for this time, including an increase in functionality for agents and intermediaries. For instance, agents and intermediaries will be able to have their own accounts on TSS making it less cumbersome to support their customers.
Please note however that release 7 is still to go through the testing process so the above is not set in stone. We will bring members further updates as and when they become available.
