British Frozen Food Awards 2024

The British Frozen Food awards are a celebration of quality, innovation and success of the best new and innovative products from across the frozen food sector over the past twelve months.

It is an opportunity for brands and businesses to promote products and to gain the recognition they deserve. Every year competition is stiff but for award winners there is no greater accolade or bigger opportunity to stand out in a busy market place. Category winners gain the opportunity to utilise the prestigious British Frozen Food Award winning logos across packaging and marketing communications to promote their product.

The Judging

Judging is completed by independent panels across the country where the product is cooked in conventional ovens and served according to the instructions laid out on the packaging.

There are two categories for the awards, retail and foodservice.

Retail

Retail products are judged by independent consumer panels each consisting of people from all walks of life across the UK and the last panel consisting of a group of professional Chefs.

This means that every retail product was sampled 28 times to ensure all entries were fairly and well judged across a varied and wide spectrum of people.

- Texture
- Appeal
- Packaging
- Ease of use
- Value for money
- Likelihood to purchase
- Innovation

DEADLINE :  1st December 2023

Foodservice

There is a different process for the Foodservice products – they are subjected to the highest standard of judging by a team made up of members from the highly regarded Craft Guild of Chefs which took place at Barnsley College.

This incredible and complex judging process took place over an 8 week period involving 168 consumers, 8 professional chefs, a guest member judge assessing taste, texture, the cooking process, the packaging, presentation and more.

- Environmentally firnedly
- Appearance
- Ease of service
- Eating quality
- Innovation
- Seasonal/Party Food
