Ryan Jayberg provided the design & build expertise to deliver all specialist Temperature controlled rooms within the Customs Inspection Facility near Dover.

Key Requirements at the new Import facility included:
• N+1 redundancy (100% back-up) with auto changeover.
• Transit Areas to maintain 12 degrees Celsius.
• 1 x Specialist meat carcass hanging room to maintain 5 degrees Celsius- cooling only.
• 6 x Inspection rooms to maintain 12degrees Celsius.
• 2 x Frozen Food Storage areas to maintain minus 21 degrees Celsius cooling only.
• 6 x Chilled Ambient rooms. To maintaining between 5 -17 degrees Celsius as pre-set.
• Large turnout/Loading area to maintain 12 degrees Celsius.
• Side vehicle loading bay which can hold a full arctic lorry to maintain 12 degrees Celsius.

The team at Ryan Jayberg supported for a 1-year period producing all detailed engineering, technical design requirements, Revit/ CAD & 3D modelling. In total 17 specialist temperature-controlled spaces with 52 no high-level evaporators.

Many of the spaces could be both heated and cooled to the appropriate temperature as required. This is achieved by using heater banks within the RDM control infrastructure.
