With an aim of reducing Covid-19 infections and keeping businesses open and people at work, the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) are doing some research as part of a set of government funded National Core Studies.
They would like to invite individual food processing companies to complete a survey. The survey would be anonymous for our members and focuses on the potential for transmission of infection through workplaces across the food production sector, mostly places that have not had any Covid-19 outbreaks. It will also allow the research team to get an overview of the Covid-19 situation in the food processing industry as a whole.
This will involve completing a short on-line survey; should companies then agree to some more in-depth case studies and research with their facilities, this is available on an optional basis.
The study leaders Miranda Loh (IOM) and Tony Fletcher (LSHTM) will be in contact soon to invite your participation. For inquiries on this project you can get in touch with IOM investigator Dr Miranda Loh (email: miranda.loh@iom-world.org; telephone: 0 131 449 8052).
