
The BFFF continues to monitor the Omicron variant situation and attends the food resilience forum. It was mentioned that factories should ensure COVID measures resume as before at the height of the pandemic including social distancing in factories.
Vaccination is paramount, the World Health Organisation (WHO) has recently stated; ‘Omicron has an unprecedented number of spike mutations, some of which are concerning for their potential impact on the trajectory of the pandemic, the prospect of the new variant transmission directly relates to lower areas of vaccination’
