No charges for coronavirus (COVID-19) testing, treatment and vaccination
Overseas visitors to England, including anyone living in the UK without permission, will not be charged for:
- testing for COVID-19 (even if the test shows they do not have COVID-19)
- treatment for COVID-19, including for a related problem called multisystem inflammatory syndrome that affects some children
- vaccination against COVID-19
No immigration checks are needed for overseas visitors if they are only tested, treated or vaccinated for COVID-19.
Testing and vaccine status of seasonal workers (those exempt from quarantine)
- Must have a negative test within 3-days of departure for England
- Must take tests by days 2, 5, and 8 after arriving
- LFD tests can be accessed from:
- Workplace testing
- Ordering tests to be sent to the worker
- NHS test and trace sites
- Community testing sites (subject to local availability)
- Tests can be at ‘home’ and self-reported or under supervision
- Everyone in England is entitled to register with a GP. Whilst an individual’s NHS number might be used for administration purposes, having an NHS number is not a pre-requisite to be offered the coronavirus vaccine.
- If individuals are registered with a GP, then their GP will contact them in due course. Practices should not turn people away because they do not have proof of ID, address, or immigration status.
