With the second lockdown coming into effect, on Thursday of this week, the impact on many parts of the Food Service market is massive.
The Federation had already highlighted the plight of the supply industry into the market back in the Spring.
Many members now find the ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ has been turned off and the revenue stream sparked into life by the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme has suddenly gone into reverse.
With revenue now severely restricted, many businesses still have to pay rents, rates and energy bills. This combined with having difficulty in being paid for stock delivered earlier in the year means many small and medium sized businesses face a bleak future.
The Federation working together with the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association, the British Sandwich & Food To Go Association and the Café Life Association, have sent a brief poll to Manufacturing companies to gather information on their current status.
We will use this information to explain in detail the plight of the ‘Squeezed Middle’ to Government to seek further financial support.
So, please complete the survey as the more information we have the stronger our cause.
The deadline for completion is this Friday 6 November.
