The government has announced that from 10th July 2020 you are not required to self-isolate when you arrive in England if you:

  • Are travelling or returning from one of the countries with travel corridor exemption
  • Have not been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list in the previous 14 days

The exemption applies to all modes of transport, whether you arrive by train, ferry, coach, air or any other route.

However, you are required to self-isolate for 14 days if you have been to or stopped in a country that is not listed on the travel corridors exemption list.

For a full list of countries with travel corridor exemption, click here (https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-travel-corridors#travel-corridors-countries-and-territories-exemption-list)

When you are staying over in a country, you will need to comply with their coronavirus requirements, which may require self-isolating or providing details to local authorities. It’s also advisable to have the appropriate travel insurance in case you incur unexpected costs.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) advise before and during your travels, you check:

Whether you are a visitor or UK resident, before you arrive in the UK you must complete a passenger locator form (https://www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk) which must be presented on arrival to the UK.

Information for travel into Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be published by the Devolved Administrations.

Do not travel If you have coronavirus symptoms.
