Following the Prime Minister’s address to the nation last night (23/03/2020), the BFFF have devised a template letter which may be used by your staff to confirm their status as a Key Worker. Many of you will already have instigated some form of this but the template is intended to be helpful if not done already.
Important points to note
One thing you must ensure is that you have a phone number of a single point of contact (SPOC) on your letter. This is what the police would likely ask for should a person be challenged.
The single point of contact, must be available on that number 24/7 to verbally confirm the identity of the worker.
Also note that the police communications centres/offices always withhold their number (unless calling from a mobile) so you must answer withheld numbers just in case it is that call.
The above will help our local policing teams to ensure your workers identities can be verified as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
Note: this letter has no legal standing. Should the government issue a formal document for use then the BFFF will advise accordingly.
