Speakers

Tim Lang

Tim Lang is Professor Emeritus of Food Policy at City, University of London’s Centre for Food Policy. Hill farming in Lancashire in the 1970s formed his interest in policy tensions over food, health, environment, politics and culture which he’s worked on ever since. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. His latest book is Feeding Britain (Pelican pb 2021). He’s spent the last two years researching the state of UK civil food resilience for the National Preparedness Commission.

Matt Everitt

Matt Everitt – Senior Business Development Manager, Vypr
With over 15 years of international experience across the UK, EU, and US, Matt Everitt specialises in the frozen and chilled sectors at Vypr, including seafood, meat, and pre-prepared categories. He has worked with top brands across the industry, delivering consumer insights that drive innovation and growth.

Previously, Matt held roles at Red Bull, Unilever, Aspire Brands, and Atheon Analytics, developing expertise in market strategy and data-driven decision-making. His work continues to support brands in shaping successful product launches and thriving in competitive markets.

Alex Lawrence

Alex Lawrence is the Senior Strategic Insights Director for the UK CPG business vertical. Alex has been with Circana for the past 15 years and spent the bulk of that time as the Account Leader for Circana’s UK P&G business. Prior to that Alex has enjoyed roles at Acxiom, Claritas, Spectra and notably at Scottish Courage as the UK’s Marketing Information Manager. Alex has a Masters Degree in Strategic Marketing Management from Kingston University.

Andy Stephens

Andy has over 15 years’ experience working with food businesses to improve their social and environmental impact. As COOK’s Impact Director, he leads on their progress towards a vision of food that is grown, made, and enjoyed in a way that nourishes people and pla40net.

Megan Van Someren

Megan joined the Jamie Oliver Group in 2022 as CCO, responsible for driving commercial & brand growth as well as an ambitious social impact agenda. She leads teams across brand experience, product & partnerships as well as sustainability and social impact. Her focus is to deliver multi-channel experiences across all relevant customer, category & partner opportunities while delivering on the brand’s promise of enabling a better and more joyful mealtime.

Greg Rahilly

Greg, an Associate Director in Grant Thornton's ESG & Sustainability team, supports senior leaders in achieving strategic sustainability goals. Previously Greg spent eight years in sales and strategy teams in the consumer industry, including Innocent Drinks. Greg holds a Better World MBA from The University of Exeter and contributes to B Local events in Bristol and Bath.

Philip Shelley

Philip Shelley is Senior Operational Manager for NHS England and is also the National Lead for Net Food. Philip was the Chair of the NHS Food Review, following the unfortunate deaths through Listeria in 2019.
Having served as National Chair of the Hospital Catering Association, he proactively drives collaboration between fellow organisations. He has been acknowledged with the Public Sector Alliance, Chairs Award in 2024 and the Outstanding Service Award in 2020 by the Hospital Catering Association. Philip is also a fellow of the Institute of Hospitality.

Mary Pollard

Mary Pollard is the Interim Director of the Move to -15°C Coalition, an award-winning initiative to unite industry partners across the cold chain and redefine the temperatures that frozen food is moved and stored at.

Mary jointly leads Edelman’s EMEA Sustainability, Social Impact and Purpose specialist team, which supports clients including Unilever, MARS, IKEA and Primark. ​
She has a particular specialism in the food and beverage sector, having worked with Unilever, Mondelez, Nestle and pladis as well as Diageo.​

Duncan Wigney

Duncan was an Executive Board Member with P&L, responsible for a global Energy, Engineering, Procurement and Construction business, with annual revenues of approximately $6bn prior to joining SRD Technical as Energy Engineering Director. His portfolio included EPC delivery of $multibillion projects. He has worked extensively in Europe, Middle East, Far East, Russia, Australia and the US. With over 30 years’ experience in the energy industry in major projects he is using his skills & experience to assist organisations in tackling the Energy Transition. Duncan is qualified as a Lead Assessor on ESOS Reporting and has completed over 50 energy & carbon regulatory reports across the UK for businesses in many market sectors.

Will Dias

Will has worked in a range of operational and commercial roles for Aldi over the last 13 years. As the Buying Director responsible for Frozen Foods, Will has helped lead one of the fastest growing areas of the business over the last 5 years.

Lauren Woodley

Lauren Woodley is Group Nutrition Leader at Nomad Foods, Europe’s leading frozen food company which owns brands including Birds Eye in the UK. Winner of the 2020 FDF UK Registered Nutritionist of the Year, she is passionate about nutrition, health promotion and great food. Throughout her career working in the food industry, Lauren has championed healthy sustainable eating, positive behaviour change and nutrition education, with the purpose of empowering positive choices for all. She regularly contributes to external publications and events on topics including sustainable eating, healthy innovation, product reformulation and the UK nutrition policy landscape.
