GROWTH LEADS TO EXPANDED TEAM FOR CHALCROFT
Specialist construction company Chalcroft has expanded its team with four new appointments thanks to recent business growth, bringing on board a new Commercial Director, Quantity Surveyor, Design Manager and Financial Controller.
Brendan Reilly takes up the newly-created role of Commercial Director, bringing with him more than 25 years’ experience in the construction industry including more than seven years in regional and senior commercial management roles. Brendan’s career began as a Quantity Surveyor and has advanced through his skills in implementing robust and well-structured commercial procedures. At Chalcroft, it is Brendan’s responsibility to ensure that projects are successfully and efficiently delivered. His experience includes managing teams delivering £60m turnover, and handling design and build projects in a variety of sectors including logistics, retail, education, commercial and industrial.
The creation of a second new role sees Declan Burke join Chalcroft as Design Manager, after 15 years in various project co-ordination and architectural technician roles. Declan’s role will cover tendering and design development as well as contributing to the construction phase by managing the design and engineering consultants. His experience covers a variety of sectors and projects include urban regeneration, industrial facilities and hotels & leisure. Declan has vast experience of all stages of project management, from concepts and feasibility planning to detailing and site supervision.
Shaun Bedford returns to Chalcroft as Quantity Surveyor, bringing the team to a total of nine qualified surveyors. Working both pre- and post- contract, Shaun’s skills include estimating and budget management, tender negotiation, management of subcontractors and measured valuations. He will also be responsible for procurement, pricing and contractual negotiations as part of the Chalcroft team, and has more than 15 years’ industry experience.
The position of Financial Controller is also newly created, and taken up by chartered accountant Shaun Parnell who has more than 11 years of experience both in private practice and in industry and commerce. At Chalcroft, his aim is to maximise process efficiency while maintaining strong financial controls as well as managing a large finance team and supporting inter-departmental projects. Shaun will also turn his attention to wider value-adding projects including identifying areas for potential cost savings and effective resource utilisation.
