A new section on GOV.UK website has been launched which brings together all the latest information on how the government is helping to reduce the HGV driver shortage.
You can also sign up for email alerts to stay up to date with the latest HGV driver announcements from all government departments and agencies, including DVSA.

This includes a Department for Education blog post about the Skills Bootcamps and training to become an HGV driver.
To support the government’s plan to tackle the current shortage of lorry drivers DVSA have provided an up-to-date picture of test availability in England and Wales.
This week there are:
- 168 appointments in the Midlands
- 607 appointments in North of England
- 925 appointments in Scotland
- 477 appointments in London and South
- 55 appointments in Wales
You can use the trainer booker service to book these appointments.
There are currently have 17,719 vocational tests booked and there were 402 unsold vocational test appointments last week.
