Delivered by the University of Reading, the Managing for Sustainability training module will teach you to understand the concepts of sustainability and how these can practically apply to the food industry, assess the drivers, challenges and benefits of becoming more sustainable. You will understand barriers and motivations for organisational change towards sustainability and develop practical strategies to move organisations towards sustainability.
Training is delivered by online distance learning (approx. 30 hours commencing December 2015), followed by 3 days of campus workshops (11th – 14th January 2016) at the University of Reading’s award winning Whiteknights Campus.
The campus workshops which will include facilitated discussions, a site visit, keynote talks and case studies from sustainability experts from within the Food Industry including:
- Sustainability Manufacturing – Professor Julian Cooper, former head of Food Science British Sugar
- Total Sustainability: A vision for the future – Geraldine Gilbert, Forum for the Future
- Site visit to FAI Farms where you’ll see sustainability in action.
Training Module Fee: £650 with bursary*
