Build our business and drive customer satisfaction
Your core task in this Account Manager role is to increase our turnover by actively approaching existing and potential customers. This demands the ability to map, monitor and respond to market developments as you identify and translate customer needs and requirements into concrete opportunities and (new) services. On a day-to-day basis this requires you to:

  • Collect (strategic) market information and segment interesting target groups;
  • Schedule appointments and deliver business presentations;
  • Issue quotations and follow them up until the actual start of the service;
  • Visit and (partly) prepare trade fairs and customer events as relevant;
  • Meet requirements regarding legislation and regulations;
  • Provide input for sales activities and figures for the monthly, quarterly and annual reports and the annual department plan.

At all times you act on the recorded instructions and known agreements in a timely and correct manner. You also prevent, identify and solve problems concerning processes, procedures, work instructions and systems. Further, you are expected to propose internal and customer-facing improvements whenever possible.

The role can be based at one of our sites or at your home. We have sites at Wrexham, Brierley Hill, Bury St Edmunds, Braintree and Lympne. You are free to work with a high degree of autonomy, visiting our sites only as necessary. You report to the Commercial Manager in the Netherlands.

Safety and excellence
Your core task in this Electrical Engineer role is to monitor and maintain the electrical aspects of the Cold Store Building, its refrigeration plant and other applicable services to agreed standards. In doing so you deliver excellent standards of housekeeping to the levels required by Norish and their customers. Needless to say, you manage all work in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy and safe systems of work.

Daily jobs include:

  • Maintaining optimum conditions of the refrigeration plant, including engine room, condensers and evaporators and fans;
  • Carrying out planned maintenance programmes.

In order to achieve this, you supervise specialist contractors. You also keep comprehensive up-to-date records of all electrical engineering and related activity, ensuring that it conforms to all Company, Health and Safety and statutory requirements. In addition, you occasionally provide support at other Norish sites and deputise for other electrical engineers in their absence. When necessary you perform out of hours call outs to attend the refrigeration plant and to take action to restore normal operational conditions.

You report to the Site Manager on day-to-day issues and to the Chief Engineer on all technical matters.

  • General electrical engineering knowledge. Qualified refrigeration engineers are preferred but training will be given;
  • Experience with the industrial and 3-phase electrical control panel required for temperature-controlled food storage warehousing;
  • Able to find and understand electrical drawings and schematics;
  • Experienced in building/facility maintenance;
  • Able to work in a cold store environment;
  • Previous experience in warehousing, distribution/logistics is an advantage;
  • Experience of working in the cold storage industry is desirable but not essential;

Far reaching responsibilities within a major group
Your core task as Chief Engineer is to optimise, control and monitor all aspects of engineering and property maintenance at all Norish facilities. Facilities include buildings, refrigeration plants, racking, electrical and other services. Your objective is to drive efficiency and quality in line with agreed standards and all Health & Safety regulations and within budget/cost guidelines. You also initiate and lead and/or participate in organisation wide projects for the further development of the site(s)/organisation, embracing new technologies and always focusing on energy conservation.

On a day-to-day basis you are responsible for the following:

  • Identifying long- and short-term priorities in line with Norish strategic priorities, continually reviewing business performance;
  • Creating and managing CAPEX investments;
  • Creating and controlling the Engineering budget and forecasts;
  • Understanding the root cause of problems and applying customer-focused solutions;
  • Actively driving the professionalization of the department, encouraging team and personal development and creating a talent pipeline.

At all times you proactively drive performance across all stakeholders with a focus on efficiency and productivity, proactively keeping abreast of legislative/mandatory engineering requirements. You report to the COO.

You will be based at your home, visiting our facilities around the country as necessary.
