PR Executive

As a PR Executive you will directly support the Communications Manager and Head of PR/ Communications & Membership with the delivery of the PR strategy for Company Shop Group.

You will be an expert in PR and communications and able to adapt to fast changing priorities and managing a variety of stakeholders, all whilst ensuring all content and communications, including press releases, social media content and award entries, is delivered timely and accurately.

  • Support the creation and implementation of a multi-channel PR, events and communications strategy to support organisational objectives across Company Shop Group.
  • Build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to maximise joint opportunities, ensuring we can gain maximum exposure for our projects.
  • Proactively launch PR initiatives to drive engagement and awareness amongst key stakeholder groups, across trade and consumer media, national and regional, traditional and digital.
  • Work collaboratively with relevant departments to identify potential PR opportunities for the Group, Company Shop and Community Shop.
  • Help develop effective relationships with key political stakeholders.
  • Facilitate events in retail stores during new store openings and special events, managing attendance by stock partners and political guests and maximising PR opportunities through these events.
  • Work with the Communications Manager and wider team to engage political and trade bodies to support the overarching business strategy, with the support of the external PR agency.
  • Align with the in-house team and external design partners to create collateral which supports PR initiatives and drives brand awareness, covering both traditional and digital channels.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to engage media and clients to position Company Shop Group as front of mind, while handling reactive media queries to ensure business views are clearly articulated and our reputation is enhanced as a result.
  • Support the Communications Manager to provide expert PR advice, guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and key internal clients where required.
    Execute plans to agreed timescales and specification with excellent and detailed outputs, including development of PR collateral, organisation of events, social media, web content etc.
  • Work the PR agency to leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within the business and industry media.
  • Manage the continuous monitoring of industry news and media to identify trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication opportunities surrounding them.
  • Support development of marketing research, where appropriate, to maximise coverage and to define within the industry that Company Shop Group continues to be the leading thinkers of the FMCG and surplus sector.
  • Write and manage relevant content including press releases, articles, and blogs posts for both print and digital formats.
  • Create and deliver appropriate content for social media channels, tracking performance and supporting the production of regular reporting.
  • Attend industry networking events where appropriate and use insights to help develop Company Shop Group PR activities.
  • Maintain all campaign and target lists, including using email marketing platforms.
  • Support and work with other members of the team to coordinate and deliver all activities.

Location– Company Shop, Head Office, Tankersley, Barnsley.

Become our new Potato Marketing Hero as the Country Marketing Manager OOH (Out of home) UK & ROI is supporting the growth of Lamb Weston’s market share and strengthen brand awareness in strategically defined segments. You will be developing, driving and implementing customised marketing instruments and sales tools. In this full-time role you will become part of our dynamic Frozen Commercial (OOH) Northern Europe team. In this role you will report to the Marketing Lead Northern Europe and have no direct reports (standalone role). Haygrade 16.

What you will do:

  • Accelerating the value selling power of the organization through development or adaptation of local marketing activities and concepts while translating these into channel specific customer communications;
  • Contributing to the long-term route to market strategy of the UK & Ireland through developing the initiatives and relationships in the focus segments;
  • Create a clear marketing strategy including an activation plan integrated in our annual operating procedure for the UK and in alignment with the rest of the business unit in Northern Europe, to reach your objectives;
  • Developing and adapting marketing communication instruments to enable and equip the field-sales team to practice consultative and professional selling;
  • Ensuring aligned timing of product launches and campaigns towards customers, the sales team and the core marketing team in the Netherlands;
  • Applying structured and reliable project management with on time delivery;
  • Building a local network of relevant stakeholders as well as marketing and media agencies and suppliers;
  • Managing the local marketing budget for the UK.

What we do expect from you?

  • Bachelor degree (or higher) in marketing, branding, journalism or marketing communication or related fields;
  • A minimum of 5 years of marketing experience within the FMCG market (preferably Out of Home/Foodservice);
  • Extensive background in digital marketing and success measurement tools;
  • Advanced knowledge of lead-generation strategies and efficient spending reports in social media
  • Experience of launching new product innovations (above-the-line/below-the-line) to a defined target group;
  • You are confident in working proactively, independently and you feel confident working remotely and from home.
  • Know-how in CRM systems, Google AdWords, PPC, SEO management
  • You are familiar with on-trade public relations and advising external agencies partners and marketing pitches
  • Structured mid-sized event management and strong negotiation skills experience is a plus
  • Understanding of the channels and customers in the market and being able to apply the best marketing tools in order to execute successful launches and activations;
  • Experience in category management and trend insight analysis is a plus;
  • Fluently in English is a must, knowledge of other European languages is beneficial;
  • Frequent travel is required (40%) – flexibility is essential

The role:

  • Responsible for leading the successful marketing strategy representative of a leading FMCG brand.
  • Budget management, including appropriate analysis of activity and tools to ensure best value, utilisation and ROI.
  • Manage all market data including monthly Nielsen data, market penetration and KPIs.
  • The consumer champion and take ownership of all consumer data, such as consumer demographics, market trends, industry data and basket data and as a result advise the board as the inhouse expert.

  • Manage retail activity and prepare data and presentations for the sales team for retailer meetings.
