Lantmännen Unibake UK has appointed Harry Peak to the role of Senior Development Chef

The promotion of Harry Peak to Senior Development Chef at Lantmännen Unibake will see Harry Peak take on the challenge of developing strategic new bakery products to drive the ever changing and highly competitive bakery market, in-line with Lantmännen Unibake’s strategic growth vision.

Martin Jones, Lantmännen Unibake Commercial Director commented “Harry will be responsible for product and recipe innovation for not only our core portfolio but developing bespoke opportunities and solutions for key customers. This is a pivotal role that is instrumental in driving profitable growth.”

Peak says: “My vision for Lantmännen Unibake is that we become leaders in innovation and strong partners to our customers, continuing to create the newest and most exciting concepts for end consumers. Whether working on the next burger craze, heritage baguettes, dessert-inspired Danish or charcoal croissants; I want to bring to life the boldest and bravest ideas!”

Peak has been in the food industry for 15 years and brings a wealth of experience to the role. Starting aged 13 as a fishmonger, then undergoing his apprenticeship at the prestigious Westminster Kingsway College – attended by Jamie Oliver and the ‘15 Foundation’. From here, Peak gained experience working as sous chef at the esteemed Langham Hotel and cooking for Gordon Brown at No.10, before moving into manufacturing.  He is a member of the Craft Guild of Chefs and has most recently been excelling as an NPD Technologist at Lantmännen Unibake UK. Peak’s passion for food extends beyond the limits of the office, he enjoys sampling products and dishes from renowned food critic recommendation of the latest Michelin star establishment’s seasonal menus to social media advocated on-trend street food stalls, with “Food for thought” being a catch phrase as well as a way of life for Peak.

Emma Elstone, Lantmännen Unibake UK Head of NPD, said: “Harry will continue to drive the innovation agenda for Lantmännen Unibake bringing a hybrid of passion for food and industry experience to deliver on-trend, inspired, delicious and profitable solutions, which will leave our customer’s coming back for more.”

Peak’s promotion after 12 months in the business is another example of Lantmännen Unibake’s continued commitment to developing talent and driving career advancements internally.
