MDC FOODS TO SHOWCASE PREMIUM QUALITY PRODUCT RANGE
AT FIRST EVER EUROPEAN PIZZA & PASTA SHOW
MDC Foods – one of the UK’s leading frozen food manufacturers – will be showcasing its range of modern and enticing vegetable and pasta products at the European Pizza & Pasta Show, which is being held at Olympia London on 9th – 10th November. Visitors can sample the latest innovation in frozen food from MDC Foods at stand 75A, including its sun-ripened Parrilla® Peppers and Soleil Rose® Tomatoes which make ideal pizza toppings. The supplier specialises in not only growing produce, but also manufacturing its own pasta, offering professional kitchens full traceability and quality ingredients that are convenient and easy to use.
Paul Turner, Foodservice Commercial Manager at MDC Foods, comments: “The pizza and pasta market is very diverse within the foodservice sector, from Italian chain restaurants to independent operators, hotels and even pubs finding a place for these dishes on their menus. As the frozen food sector continues to grow in foodservice, and with frozen pasta sales up 5.5%[1], we are looking forward to showing operators first-hand the quality produce we have on offer.”
The new Soleil Rose® Tomatoes can help operators to easily recreate a number of classic, authentic pizza and pasta dishes; whilst the new range of Parrilla® vegetables includes grilled red, green and yellow peppers, which are available in different cuts and sizes. Grown in Spain and Portugal, the vegetables are picked and frozen within a matter of hours, ensuring maximum retention of flavour and nutrients. MDC Foods prides itself on providing its customers with a complete ‘field to fork’ solution, working closely with its European partners and specialist growers to deliver full traceability.
Turner concludes: “With 95% of chefs stocking and using frozen foods[2], we know that there is a demand for quality produce, with the added benefit of being easy to prepare and helping limit wastage in the kitchen. We continue to develop our range with new formats and innovative products, ensuring that we are at the forefront of consumer trends and meeting the needs of chefs.”
