The FSA have launched a campaign to help motivate more food businesses to register with their local authority. Since the start of the pandemic there has been a huge increase in people setting up food businesses based in the home.
Figures show that 37% of new food ventures registered since March 2020 are run from domestic kitchens / private addresses BUT many more are failing to register as food businesses.
A variety of channels are being used including targeted content running on podcasts, promoted Facebook and Instagram Marketplace adverts and online advertising via google search to engage with those who may be operating an unregistered food business (with a particular focus on those trading online or from home).
The FSA would welcome members support in the delivery of this important campaign, by sharing it as widely as possible.
They have created some supporting materials for this purpose:
These materials are also available in Welsh. Please contact Caroline Shutter in the FSA Partnerships team to provide you with access.
