Welcome to the AgriFood Training Partnership
As you may know the Advanced Training Partnerships (of which there are three: AgriFood ATP, Food ATP & Pasture ATP) were formed by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) in 2012 to develop high level skills and training, and enhance a culture of research within the UK food industry.
In 2017 the three ATPs will be harmonised into a single entity –
The AgriFood Training Partnership, AFTP.
The AFTP comprises an elite partnership of research institutions that have the scientific credentials to provide training in the technical skills and innovation needs of the UK agriculture and food (agrifood) industries on a global stage.
Our mission is to educate and challenge agrifood industry professionals to create a culture of sustainable, quality food production that benefits health and promotes a responsible, profitable food industry for the future.
To do this, we need you!
The AFTP is looking for Executive Board Members with the skills, expertise and connections to strategic networks to help us achieve our vision and to ensure good governance of all aspects of the AFTP.
We are looking for individuals operating at a senior level with experience of successful networking and partnership working who can take a lead in driving forward the education and research capabilities of a global agri-food sector. Executive Board members need to “champion” the AFTP and be able to create new opportunities and links to support the AFTP in developing and achieving its vison.
Executive Board members will support the Director, and provide strategic direction for the overall work of the AFTP to ensure that it meets the collaborative training requirement of employers and their staff, and that it remains responsive to the needs of the agri-food industry but are not required to be involved in the day-to-day detail.
If you believe you could help us make a difference to the Food Industry then we would love to hear from you.
The closing date for applications is the 27th January 2017.
To apply, for more information, or for an informal discussion about the role of a Board member, please contact Carol Wagstaff, AFTP Director on c.wagstaff@reading.ac.uk, or Barbara Mason, AFTP Operations Director on b.p.mason@reading.ac.uk.
