As the BFFF continue to provide its members with the best health and safety products and advice, we are pleased to confirm that Defib Plus have accepted an invitation to join the APPG – Defibrillators and continues to demonstrate and promote best practice in the supply and support of this important workplace medical equipment.
Ross Severn, MD, Defib Plus: All organisations know the benefits of these devices and that they save lives, daily. They also know that providing this medical equipment is not mandatory, what may not be understood so clearly is the implications of HSE, First Aid Needs Assessments which increasingly highlight an obligation here for any number of reasons, staff numbers, footfall, location, trade, etc. A risk adverse organisation may consider this a ‘rock and a hard place’, we address that. There is a lot of education still to be done around defibrillators, particularly in the commercial sector where there is some confusion.
We are flattered and excited to have taken up our invitation to join this important body. One aim is to increase understanding about workplace defibrillator provision and in turn remove some of the concerns that exist about corporate ownership and the grey areas therein.
Defib Plus, supply AEDs/Defibrillators, train Custodians in equipment governance and offer two forms of Assisted Governance & Supervised Compliance Programs, which includes the *free supply of AEDs, their batteries and electrodes, specialised mental health support for staff involved in a workplace resuscitation attempt, mitigation & protection and monthly AED operational certification to fulfil statutory PUWER requirements.
We are pleased to congratulate Defib Plus on this important appointment and would urge any of our members looking to provide this equipment in their workplace, or who would like to understand more about the procedures, protocols or the outsourcing of governance and compliances associated with an existing fleet to get in touch.
