HMRC have recently contacted the BFFF to ask us to remind members that the current Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) will close for import declarations on 30th September 2022. Export declarations will cease on 31st March 2023.
They are urging companies to move onto the new Customs Declaration Services. Members can find details of the letter issued by HMRC by following this link or you can read more details on the Govt website by following this link.
The letter also re-confirms delays to import controls on goods coming in from the EU.
