Holland’s Pies,the UK’s best-known producer of pies and pastries, claimed silver, at the BFFF Annual Awards 2015, for the ‘Best New Main Course/Meal Centre Product’ Award for its premium Pub Classics range, which includes the popular Guinness Pie, Peppered Steak and Chicken & Ham.

The BFFF is the UK’s frozen food trade association, with over 300 members. Its annual award’s retail entries are judged by the ultimate experts – the consumer, and its catering entries are judged by qualified professionals – members of the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Holland’s Pub Classics range was up against a stellar line-up in the award’s catering category. But the legendary pie producers walked away with silver for its premium, larger 247g pies, which feature the finest British ingredients, these individual pies come in three flavour varieties including Peppered Steak Pie, Chicken & Ham Pie and the popular Steak & GUINNESStm Pie – created in collaboration with GUINNESS®,brewers of the number 1 stout in the world*

A spokesperson at BFFF commented, “Holland’s Pies should know a thing about pies as they have been baking them since 1851. Their unmistakable blend of short crust pastry contains less fat than standard short crust pastry, also made using a well-guarded, secret technique in baking dating back to the post-War recipe. Well, our Chefs, certainly agreed that they know their onions when it comes to pies with one saying, “Visually very good, good amount of meat, flavour good – one of the best pies of this type I have tasted.”
