Prosecco Cheesecake gets Christmas off to a sparkling start!

Prosecco Cheesecake? That’s sure to get Christmas off to a sparkling start!

Bidvest Foodservice has unveiled its Christmas portfolio for this year’s festive season. With over 80 new products, the range has been developed by the expert team of chefs at the leading foodservice supplier, to provide operators with a partnership which delivers everything they will need to plan ahead and stand out from the crowd during this profitable time of year.

From delectable canapés, sumptuous joints of meat, tempting desserts and must-have festive drinks, to kitchen essentials, crackers and crockery, the festive range has been a year in the making. Using extensive market research and insights, customer feedback and supplier input, the products have been carefully selected to meet the needs of Bidvest Foodservice customers, and feature current and up-coming trends, popular flavour profiles and prevalent dietary requirements.

The range includes firm favourites such as traditional mince pies, turkey, and pigs in blankets, as well as new innovative items to tap into popular and emerging fashions, such as the growing trend for alcohol infused products[i]. Tempting treats such as the Premium Selection Popping Prosecco & Lemon Cheesecake and Gin & Lavender Parfait cater directly for this consumer demand, plus the Farmstead Apricot & Cranberry Chipolatas and Cumberland & Ginger Stuffing Balls Wrapped in Streaky Bacon, offer unique twists on classic Christmas recipes.

Committed to pushing the boundaries, Bidvest Foodservice has recently acquired Yarde Farm, a super-premium brand of exciting, and sometimes eccentric, flavoured ice creams. Specially developed for Christmas, Yarde Farm has created some indulgent new flavours, including Cinnamon Crunch Ice Cream, Ginger Ice Cream, Crisp Apple Sorbet and Elderflower Sorbet, which compliment Bidvest Foodservice’s new festive range of desserts perfectly.

As Christmas is one of the most social occasions of the year and with the trend for sharing platters showing no sign of slowing down[ii], there’s a wide variety of items which are ideal to cater for groups. From Baked Camembert & Cranberry Compote in Three Cheese Pastry and Everyday Favourites Cheese & Pickle Bites, to Sheltie Seeded Atlantic Salmon Fillet Goujons and Amaretti Brownie Bites, the term ‘spoilt for choice’ has never been more relevant.

Speaking about the launch of the range, Gail Bridgeman, Bidvest Foodservice Campaign and Activation Manager, said: “Although Christmas is often a time of traditions, the marketplace is fast-moving with a plethora of trends and eating habits continually emerging. As well as offering the popular Christmas recipes, it is important for operators to cater for varying consumer demands, from meat free options for vegetarians to new and indulgent products. Within our catering equipment range, we have introduced a collection of on-trend tableware including copper mugs which add a festive finish to any Christmas table.

“And what is Christmas without a drink, or two! To celebrate in style, we have a mix of mulled wines, warming beverages – like the Drink Me Spiced Chai Latte – refreshing soft drinks and something sparkling – such as the Rosé Brut Champagne. Through the company’s specialist drinks division, ViVAS, the beverages within our Christmas brochure have been carefully selected to provide something for all tastes, to keep the merriment going until Easter!”

The Bidvest Foodservice Christmas collection is available from September and the foodservice provider will be running a number of seasonal offers to help make the festive season even easier for operators.
