The group is currently made up of 17 members from retail, manufacturing, wholesale and cold storage companies within the BFFF membership. The group, launched at the 2020 BFFF Business Conference, was created to develop the younger generation in the Frozen Food industry. Initially, the group planned to go out to site visits for industry talks and tours around some of the pioneering work happening in the Frozen Food Industry, but due to the COVID Lockdowns the group had to adapt to virtual meetings and talks from industry professionals. With the government roadmap coming to an end in July (hopefully), we are making plans for our first face to face meeting at the end of August.

Next week the group will be joined virtually by Ali Hannaford, Director at Paramount 21. Ali will be talking to the group about her experiences over the years of running a small family business and the challenges she’s faced along the way, with Covid-19 being the latest hurdle to get over!

Later this year we are also planning to take a trip to Wakefield for a tour of Newcolds high bay cold store facility and we will also have the opportunity to meet with Charles Banks, Co-Founder of The Food People, who will explain the process of identifying trends and what trends we should watch out for.
