Oakland International Red Ribbon Innovation Award

Against strong competition, family business Oakland International secured Highly Commended at the National Red Ribbon Awards held at Wembley Stadium in London on Friday 15th July 2016 in The Innovation Award category for their specialist Distress Load Management Service.

Oakland’s Distress Load Management Service began in 2005 and has continued to see expediential growth year-on-year, whilst significantly reducing food losses for customers, loss adjusters and hauliers on distressed loads. Their advanced business approach and ongoing investment in a variety of energy efficient technologies and green initiatives, has succeeded in radically reducing the firm’s carbon footprint/energy consumption.

Dean added: “Capable of saving up to 80% of produce and with nothing going to landfill, to date we have successfully recovered circa 2000 tonnes of food, and with all food waste which cannot be saved, forwarded to anaerobic digestion plant centres where it is then be used for renewable energy.”
