CENTRAL FOODS APPOINTS NEW LOGISTICS PARTNER
Central Foods is delighted to announce it has appointed Reed Boardall as it’s logistics partner for its UK wholesale frozen food business for the next five years. Central Foods offers more routes to market than any other supplier in the frozen delivered wholesale sector and Reed Boardall will play a key role in maintaining this position. The logistics service, based at Reed Boardall’s Boroughbridge distribution site, involves the collection of frozen products ex-supplier factory, the receipt and nationwide delivery, on a shared user basis, of such to over 200 independent frozen food wholesalers, as well as to the large groups and nationals and larger end-user caterers – over 240 delivery points each week.
Gordon Lauder, Managing Director Central Foods, said: “We awarded our contract to Reed Boardall because of its fully integrated operational and IT systems. The planned new extension to its fourth warehouse will give us scope to continue growing and because the company services blue chip clients throughout the UK and is a privately owned, family business like ourselves, we know they have the same standards and expectations of excellence.
