Ecopack: Precision-Engineered Baking Moulds for Industrial, Distributor, and Retail Channels

With over 85 years of experience, Ecopack S.p.A. is a global leader in paper baking moulds designed to meet the demanding needs of industrial bakery automation, including applications in the frozen food sector, as well as distributor and retail markets. Founded in 1939 in Turin, Italy, Ecopack has grown to six strategically located plants across Europe, North and South America, Africa, and Asia, supporting clients in over 80 countries with high-performance solutions where precision, reliability, and cold-chain compliance are essential.

Our core business is co-developing industrial-grade products alongside our clients: our technical expertise allows us to customize every aspect of the product, from size and specifications to design, while supporting clients throughout product development, including applications that require freezing, cold storage, and direct oven use.

Our engineering process begins with a detailed analysis of our clients’ production lines, including automation, oven speed, product volume, handling requirements, thermal loads, and packaging constraints. We then calibrate critical specifications such as paper grammage, balancing rigidity with heat resistance, porosity and micro-perforations to regulate moisture and prevent condensation, mechanical strength, siliconized release coatings, and dimensional tolerances.

Paper grammage and coating technology ensure our moulds support a wide range of recipes, from wetter to drier preparations. They are safe for freezing, can be placed directly into the oven, and are fully compatible with the cold chain, ensuring consistent performance from frozen storage to baking while maintaining product integrity, release properties, and baking quality.

Our manufacturing emphasizes tight tolerances, weight consistency, and engineered release properties. Investments in automation and quality-control systems, including in-line thickness scanning, grammage meters, oven simulators, and release testing, guarantee uniform mechanical behaviour, moisture barrier performance, and reliable product release even under high-speed operation and repeated freezing cycles.

Ecopack serves three primary channels:

· Industrial: moulds designed to withstand high-speed automated lines, repeated thermal and mechanical stresses, and freezing cycles, ensuring batch-to-batch consistency, minimal downtime, and reliable sealing and release characteristics. Applications in the frozen food sector are an integral part of this category, where cold-chain compatibility is essential.

· Distributors: options to order in bulk or select our Professional Line, with pre-labelled sleeves of moulds offering flexible formats, supply-chain efficiency, and cold-storage-ready solutions for professional bakers. · Retail: customizable packaging for consumer use, enabling brand differentiation while benefiting from moulds engineered to perform reliably after freezing and baking.

This multichannel approach supports the full bakery value chain, from industrial plants and distributors to retail, without compromising technical performance or cold-chain reliability.

Sustainability complements our technical excellence. We offer FSC-certified paper, PFAS-free coatings, compostable and recyclable options, and hold CEPI and TUV Austria certifications for recyclability and compostability. Our membership in the UN Global Compact further reinforces this commitment.

After more than eight decades of refinement, Ecopack delivers industrial-grade baking moulds engineered for precision, efficiency, and reliable performance across all production conditions, including cold-chain applications. By combining engineering expertise with certified sustainability, Ecopack helps bakery industries worldwide maximize operational efficiency, product quality, and consistency.
