GreenChill Systems (RIS Ltd) are a UK-based technology company committed to accelerating the transition to zero-emission refrigerated logistics. Our flagship product, GreenChill Systems, offers a retrofit-ready solar-battery system designed to reduce emissions and modernise refrigerated transport without replacing existing trailer fleets.

GreenChill is engineered for seamless integration with both new-build and existing refrigerated trailers. The system combines advanced solar-electric or solar-kinetic technology with battery storage to deliver reliable, emission-free cooling performance during electric operation. Importantly, GreenChill is designed to retain existing diesel-drive systems as a backup, ensuring continuous temperature control and operational resilience for fleet operators.

With a bolt-on design and minimal installation downtime, GreenChill enables rapid fleet upgrades, helping operators maintain productivity while adopting cleaner technologies. The system features integrated telematics for remote monitoring and real-time data visibility, empowering fleet managers to track performance, optimise energy consumption, and reduce fuel use and operational costs.

Building on these capabilities, RIS has developed the GreenChill Digital Power Management System. This intelligent platform extends energy efficiency beyond the trailer, enabling smarter power management across fleets and depots. It supports bi-directional charging — allowing energy stored in trailer batteries to be returned to depot sites during peak demand periods (Vehicle-to-Depot), subject to integration — which can help reduce electricity costs, support grid stability and lower carbon impact.

The GreenChill system also facilitates flexible charging options, including fast or slow charging, and supports the seamless integration of solar, battery, and grid power. Remote control of refrigeration units and comprehensive battery monitoring allow operators to ensure that every trailer is delivery-ready while optimising energy use across sites.
