Darkonium Ltd

Darkonium helps UK frozen food producers and their logistics partners run colder, cleaner and leaner—without adding headcount or buying new kit. We build an AI-driven digital twin of your operations (production lines, cold rooms, warehouse space, docks, trailers). The twin ingests live data from existing systems and light-touch sensors, exposes waste, simulates fixes safely, and then runs an optimal plan that adapts to reality as it changes.

For factories, we focus first on the big leaks: energy, downtime and bottlenecks. Our twin models refrigeration duty, setpoints and defrost cycles; it identifies idle energy draw and aligns energy-heavy tasks to cheaper tariff windows. On the shop floor, we remove constraints that starve or block throughput, shorten changeovers/CIP, and prevent the breakdowns that cause product loss—especially in cold-critical assets such as compressors, spiral or blast freezers, and packaging lines.

In the warehouse, we improve space utilisation and airflow. That means better slotting and zoning, shorter cold-safe routes, fewer door-open minutes and sensible handling of warm inbound loads. The result is lower kWh, more stable temperatures and fewer excursions. We also coordinate the handover points—staging, docks, yard and transport—where well-stored goods often “go south”. With pallet-level temperature telemetry, predictive ETAs and dynamic door assignments, we cut dwell time and protect product quality.

Across the cold chain, Darkonium orchestrates yard, dock and trailer use: smoothing arrivals, improving trailer cube utilisation, and prioritising at-risk loads. Predictive alerts help avoid temperature excursions and reduce rejects at delivery. For planning teams, the platform provides a single source of truth and continuously re-optimises production, labour, maintenance and logistics as suppliers, carriers and retailers change the plan. Sales benefit from reliable Available-to-Promise (ATP) dates and improved OTIF.

What you can expect: meaningful reductions in energy use and cost, less spoilage/waste, higher throughput/OEE, and lower labour per unit through better timing and fewer fire-drills. Because we simulate changes first, teams can move fast without trial-and-error losses; where CapEx is being considered, the twin tests options and helps sweat existing assets before you buy more.

Darkonium works with SMEs and larger groups alike. Engagements start with a rapid, remote diagnostic using your existing data; we return a site-specific opportunity map that quantifies upside in energy, space/airflow, handovers, scheduling and quality. From there, we deploy in phases so value shows up quickly and compounds.

If you operate freezers and cold rooms, store and pick frozen goods, or manage temperature-controlled transport, Darkonium gives your teams a practical, day-to-day advantage: clear visibility, fewer surprises and a plan that stays optimal—even when the outside world doesn’t.
