From pioneers…
Founded in 1948, Nienstedt GmbH is located on the edge of the Ruhr region. The company initially focused on saw components for the local timber industry. Due to structural changes in the region, the company had to draw on its pioneering spirit and technological expertise. Innovative saw components enabled the transition to the food industry, initially concentrating on processing frozen fish blocks. In the 1970s, Nienstedt introduced the first fully automated production line for fish fingers.

Thanks to progressive specialization, Nienstedt was able to expand its business internationally. In the 1990s, the range of fish processing systems was expanded to include shaping technology. By combining both technologies – sawing and shaping – a wide variety of end products in all sizes and shapes are possible. Today, renowned seafood brands from around the world rely on processing systems from Nienstedt. Innovative processes are opening up entirely new possibilities, such as the processing of tuna, shrimp, poultry, kebab meat, baked goods, and agricultural products. Nienstedt will continue to invest in technological innovations to continue its unparalleled success story as an independent family business.
