Created in 1997 and based in La Rochelle on the West Atlantic coast, Atlantique Alimentaire is one of the leaders in the frozen savoury offer in the families of savoury pancakes, quiches and tarts in private label offer.

2019 saw the takeover by CAVAC, an agricultural cooperative with headquarters in the Vendée area, north of La Rocelle, with the ambition of making the Atlantique Alimentaire site a preferred site for the use of its local raw materials such as flour, eggs and cereals. The integration of the legumes (pulses) activity in 2021 will open the doors to the vegetable sector with a growing range of products made from these materials: bites, puffs and other recipes.

With 160 team members and around 300 different finished product references, Atlantique Alimentaire develops, manufactures, and markets some 14,000 tons of frozen products divided into 3 main families:

- Pies and savoury tarts: from 100g to 2.3 kg: 5000 tons
- Filled savory pancakes: from 50g to 180g: 8000 tons
- Other specialties: cakes, gratins: 500 tons
- Pulses: lentils, mogettes, palets and bites......... 300 tons

To have a diversified customer portfolio, these products are marketed through 4 main distinct distribution channels, and according to the following breakdown of turnover in 2022:

- French supermarket distribution 37%, catering and food service players 25%, specialized frozen food channels 29%, export markets (both retail and food service 9%.
- We deliver to all brands, traditional and hard-discounters, specialists, but also to local authorities (schools, hospitals, prisons), bakeries for take-away sales, gas stations and to all intermediaries who offer our products in their catalogue.

With a highly automated factory maintained by dense technical teams, Atlantique Alimentaire and its quality management system are recognized on the best levels of the 2 essential food industry standards:

- IFS: necessary to work with the French and German mass distribution (higher level for Atlantique Alimentaire)
- The BRC: necessary to work with the United Kingdom (Grade A*).
- Our teams are trained to be even more efficient.

In addition to these recognitions, Atlantique Alimentaire is approved for the following product standards:

- VPF: to offer products made from pork born, raised, and slaughtered in France,
- MSC: for the respect of marine resources,
- AB: for organic products
- RSPO: for the use of palm oil from sustainably managed forests,
- Halal: for its ability to comply with the practices required in this area.

In addition to the IFS and BRC trade standards, which are compulsory to operate in our markets, ATLANTIQUE ALIMENTAIRE has also implemented a voluntary CSR approach, which is evaluated each year by an independent organization.

Our CSR approach is evaluated according to the ISO 26000 standard, the only international CSR standard, and has reached the maximum level of EXCELLENCE.

This includes the treatment of cleaning water, the supply of our raw materials and the recycling of our aluminum moulds. It’s a global way of thinking, working and achieving environmental goals.
