HAT TRICK OF ISO ACCREDITATIONS FOR CHALCROFT

Specialist construction company Chalcroft has added ISO 9001 and 14001 to its existing ISO 18001 Health and Safety accreditation, emphasising its position as an employer and construction partner of choice.

ISO 9001 is a certified Quality Management System (QMS) which demonstrates an organisation’s ability to meet the needs of clients and customers in a robust and professional manner. In achieving this accreditation, Chalcroft worked with members of all internal teams to co-ordinate stringent processes and procedures for all departments establishing a culture of quality, based on a collaborative approach both with clients and across the business.

Chalcroft’s ISO 9001 accreditation documents its compliance with the standard, applying to the management and construction of commercial and industrial build projects, including activities as Principal Contractor and contractor.

Alongside this guarantee of quality, Chalcroft has also achieved ISO 14001 for the same scope. This standard sets the criteria and framework for an environmental management system and follows the ‘Plan, Do, Check, Act’ principles in managing environmental aspects and impacts within business.

Todd Hallam, Chalcroft’s Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) Director explained: “Once accreditation has been achieved, it’s vital to maintain those same standards throughout our daily processes. To this end, we’ve developed robust testing and inspection regimes as well as implementing training and progress meetings for all professionals in our team, and rare non-conformances are extensively analysed to prevent reoccurrence. Our philosophy is that nurturing a culture of quality throughout Chalcroft and our supply chain is critical, which is why we’re delighted both to achieve new accreditations and receive renewal of existing certifications – proving that our high standards are consistently upheld.”

The accreditation renewal achieved by Chalcroft is BS OHSAS 18001, which sets the minimum standard for best practice occupational health and safety management, and this certification has been held by Chalcroft since 2012.
