Macphie welcomes new CEO
Scottish food ingredient manufacturer Macphie has announced that Andy Stapley has joined the company as chief executive officer (CEO).
Most recently managing director at Kensey Foods in Cornwall, Mr Stapley has over 15 years board-level experience with major FMCG organisations including Marine Harvest ASA, Youngs Seafood and 2 Sisters Food Group.
Mr Stapley said: “I’m hugely excited about joining Macphie, an ambitious and respected business that is committed to growth.
“Our people are exceptional and we have outstanding products and great customers. It is a pivotal time to build on the existing success of the business.
“Macphie has the potential to match its ambition and I’m tremendously optimistic about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
Born and raised in Glasgow, Mr Stapley’s early career was in mechanical engineering with Rolls Royce.
He then moved into a FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) sales & marketing career in the food industry, before taking on operational and general management roles.
He has significant international experience, leading a number of change strategies in China, south-east Asia and India.
Chairman Alastair Macphie said: “We are delighted to welcome Andy to the business.
“His industry experience, along with his undoubted talent and ability, make him the ideal person to lead the company as we look to grow our strong position in markets both here and overseas.”
Mr Stapley succeeds Andy Underwood, who was the first managing director from outside the Macphie family on his appointment in April 2014.
