MDC Foods – one of the UK’s leading frozen food manufacturers – has launched a new range of premium quality frozen produce, exclusively for the wholesale market, under its Crop’s brand. The products were unveiled for the first time at the International Food & Drink Event (IFE), where MDC Foods also invited visitors to sample creations from its existing range, such as fresh frozen berry smoothies.

Developed to help wholesalers cater for foodservice customers such as independent hotels, guest houses, pubs, restaurants and cafés; the Crop’s range comprises of a wide selection of frozen vegetables, in addition to pasta, rice, potatoes and grains. With the frozen food market continuing to grow, the range aims to attract chefs and caterers looking for products which will save them time, help manage portion control and minimise wastage.

Paul Turner, Foodservice Commercial Manager at MDC Foods, comments: “Our new wholesale range is a logical next step for us and we’re looking forward to moving into this channel. We have been supplying quality frozen vegetables directly to foodservice customers and within retail for many years now, so we felt the time was right to use our in-depth knowledge and experience of the frozen food market to extend our offering. With all the Crop’s vegetable products quick-frozen to preserve valuable vitamins and nutrients, the range helps chefs prepare delicious accompaniments quickly and conveniently. In addition, Crop’s freshly frozen pasta is made in-house with top-quality, high-grade durum wheat, cooked al-dente and flash-frozen for maximum convenience when it comes to preparation, as well as ensuring it delivers on flavour.
