As members will be aware the UK Government has unilaterally extended the grace period for reduced paperwork requirement for exporting product to Northern Ireland (NI). However, to take advantage of the simplified processes companies need to be on the Authorised Traders List.

We are concerned that some members did not apply to be on the list as, with the Food Service Market closed, some companies may not have applied as they thought the period only run until 31st March 2021.

With the prospect of this running until at least October we are in contact with Defra about possibly re-opening the list for applications or finding other ways that Defra can support companies.

If any member is not on the list but would like to be added or needs help could they please let Jilly Wallis know.

The deadline for responding to this is Friday, 26th March 2021.
