The latest domestic regulation dealing with self-isolation was due to expire on 24th March 2022 (see below link):
The prime minister recently told MPs that “Providing the current encouraging trends in the data continue, it is my expectation that we will be able to end the last domestic restrictions, including the legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive, a full month early”. Another announcement is expected to be made next week on the 21st February with government announcing its strategy for living with COVID.
The question is how will this affect the workplace with employees no longer having to isolate under domestic rules.
From the information we have gathered, we predict that companies will still be required to protect employees in a non-domestic setting and continue with measures for hygiene, ventilation and distancing while considering specific groups such as those with underlying health conditions.
We therefore expect the government issue new working safely guidance. In addition, to the above the non-domestic regulation which deals with the enforcement of COVID-19 may remain (see below link).
